The Miniflex 3mm QuikPush™Drop Cable is a new concept in pre-terminated optical drop cables for connecting subscribers to the network access terminal. The innovative TuffNut™ Cable, in conjunction with the Balistix™ semi-connector sub-assembly (UK Patent Application No. 2448935) allows the connectorized 3mm QuikPush™ Fibre Drop Cable to be pushed through 8mm OD DVC™ Microduct.
This is the first cable configuration in the world of its small size which can be installed by pushing. Our customers benefit from improved reliability to reduced cost resulting from eliminating the time consuming and complex process of on-site fibre termination, plus the guaranteed quality of factory fitted and certified connectors.
The QuikPush™Drop Cable is a ruggedized solution by virtue of its patented OFPT sheathing and is ideally suited to the deployment challenges within multi dwelling units(MDU's) and office buildings. This ruggedness allows the cable to be stapled to wall studs, rafters and base boards using standard hardware-store stapling guns. QuikPush™cable, combined with standard G652d fibre can be bent to a minimum radius of 7.5mm with negligible loss (typically less than 0.2db).
QuikPush™cables are terminated at BOTH ends to facilitate a true Plug 'n' Play solution forFTTP applications.
- Eliminates need for field splicing or termination
- Fast Plug 'n' Play connectivity for FTTP applications
- Pushes up to 300ft with ease through Miniflex DVC™Microduct
- Intrinsic bend limiting design allowing routing around tight corners down to 7.5mm bend radius
- Inherent crush resistance allows direct stapling to building infrastructure
- Available in indoor and outdoor versions
- Outperforms traditional fibre drop cables by a substantial margin
- Can be pushed through smaller micro-ducts than any competitive product.
- Uses Miniflex patented Balistix™field-assembled SC connector in APC or UPC versions
The field process of completing the factory fitted connector assembly and making the network connection can now be achieved in less than a minute, thereby offering a dramatic reduction in the time for connecting individual customers to IT services.
Since labour is a significant cost in the installation of the final customer drop there is a substantial cost benefit from time saved by using the QuikPush™drop cable. Further more the technician skills required are reduced by the elimination of fibre splicing, giving potential for further savings.
Please contact Miniflex with your particular requirements so we can provide you with the appropriate cable. QuikPush™can be suppliedwith white flame retardant LSZH OFPT sheathing or with UL94 V0PBT OFPT sheathing in black, white, blue, red, green, and orange.
QuikPush™is a new variant of the tried and tested 3mm TuffNut™cable using Miniflex's new patented Balistix™connector (UK Patent Application No.2448935).
The Miniflex Balistix™Connector concept uses the key components of an SC connector but replaces the plastic inner body and the metal cable-crimp features with new components that reduce the size of the initial factory fitted assembly down to a 4.5mm diameter cylindrical unit that can be pushed through small bore conduits such as the Miniflex DVC™Microduct.
