QuikPush™ Drop-Cable
QuikPush™ Drop-Cable is a new concept in pre-terminated optical drop cables for use in connecting the subscriber to the network access terminal. The revolutionary QuikPush™ Cable allows the fibre cable to be pushed through Microduct. This is the first connector/cable configuration of its small size in the world which can be installed via pushing and affords our customers the benefit of eliminating the costly, time consuming and complex process of terminating fibre on site.The QuikPush™ cable is a new variant of the tried and tested 3mm TuffNut™ which is combined with Miniflex's new patented Balistix™ connector.
The Miniflex Balistix™ Connector concept uses the key components of an SC connector but replaces the plastic body and the metal cable-crimp features with new components that reduce the size of the initial factory fitted assembly down to a 4.5mm diameter cylindrical unit that can be pushed through small bore conduits such as the Miniflex DVC™ Micro-duct.
The field process of completing the connector assembly and making the network connection can now be achieved in less than 2 minutes, thereby offering a dramatic reduction in the time and cost of connecting individual customers to IT services.
Since labour is a significant cost in the installation of drop cables to connect subscribers to the network this there is a substantial benefit in labour time saved in using the QuikPush™ drop-cable.
